Checkpoints: FTP task download FTP files fails in between then what will happen?

Hi,

I have a FTP task in my control flow that download files from a FTP server. This ftp task is inside a foreach container that loops over a ADO recordset for the file name. The files that the ftp task pulls are huge. If the FTP task fails then I want the FTP task to restart and only download those files that have not been downloaded. Is this possible?

What possible configurations do I have to make to the foreach container and the filetask?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and time.

Checking for @@ERROR after a SELECT inside a transaction?

Is it normal practice to check for @.@.ERROR after a SELECT statement that retrieves data from a table OR we should only check for @.@.ERROR after a DELETE/INSERT/UPDATE type of statement? The SQL statement is inside a transaction.SELECT statements can return an error. Just do a find on this page for "error".

Check the sql server service account

Hello!

I would need to check the name of the sql server service account from inside TSQL.

I had one idea about reading from the sysprocesses system table,
but that only gives me information about the SQL Server Agent service account.

Are there other ways?

(It has to work for both SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005.)

Best regards

Ola Hallengren

There is an undocmented approach using 'registry key reading' in SQL Server 2000 version:

xp_regread @.rootkey='HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE',
@.key='SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SQLServerAgent',
@.value_name='ObjectName'

I'm working onSQL 2005 and will post here once it is successful.
